04-14-2012 ; The Maricopa County Sheriffs Office held a Family Appreciation Day at
their training academy in southwest Phoenix. It was nice to see old friends and deputies I
once worked along side.

02-19-2012 ; On Saturday we attended the Arizona Italian American Car Show in

01-29-2012 : The Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix had an event this weekend, and
the weather for it turned out to be about perfect.
11-16-2011 ; Two of my favorite areas of photography are animals and action shots, in
the Birds of San Diego gallery, you can see a few of my better attempts at capturing
both at one time.
11-16-2011 ; We took a wonderful trip to San Diego, California this past weekend, and
the gallery of some of the photos are now up.
10-25-2011 ; On Saturday we had a great family BBQ in Congress, Arizona. Weather
was great, food was out standing, and best of all the time with the grandkids couldn't have

10-23-2011 ; This years Arizona State Fair 2011 Demolition Derby had a lot of great
action. We had car fires, a car almost get flipped on its roof, and some great escapes
during the final heat. Congratulations goes out to Logan Smith for taking 1st place, and
Jim Atwater taking 2nd place. The only thing I regret about this years fair derby, is that
they cut it down to one day from three!

Dancers performing at the Arizona State Fair 2011 is up.
10-01-2011 ; We attended this years Yarnell Garden Party up north this weekend. They
have an annual party to raise funds for their community garden, and this years was a fun
event. Good food, great company and a fantastic setting to have a gourmet dinner in.
09-11-2011 ; Annual Northern Gila County Fair was this weekend, and with it was the
Payson Demolition Derby. If I discount the fact that I now have 2nd degree burns on my
face and head, it was a wonderful way to spend a summer Sunday in the high country.
08-14-2011 ; Photo shoot out at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale for my new company,
Optima Protective Group, LLC.
08-06-11 ; Attended the summer Et MotoPark Demolition Derby out in Apache Junction
today. The venue has enormous potential to put on a great derby, but they fell short this
time. The track was so small and so deep with mud, the derby was almost at a snails
pace for the first 2 rounds. Couple this with the fact that the audience was about 60 yards
back behind 2 fences trying to watch the action, it didn't make for a very good derby or
photo event for me. Following the above link will take you to the very few photos I was
able to salvage of the event, and sadly none of them are action shots. Sorry.

03-30-11 ; I was invited to help shoot the Monster Truck Nationals and Demolition Derby
out at the University of Phoenix Stadium this past weekend. This was the first event that I
had full access to all areas of the show, and it was a great experience! Part of my
agreement was that I cant post photos from the monster trucks, but the demolition derby

visit the gallery. I did submit photos of the trucks to the events promoter, and he may put

03-20-11 ; The annual Arizona Renaissance Festival 2011 was a lot of fun this year. We
spent almost 8 hours wandering the festival seeing as many of the stage shows as
possible.
02-08-11 ; Photos from the annual Melrose on 7th Ave Street Fair are now up. This is a
yearly event along 7th Ave that showcases classic cars.
02-27-11 ; After a rainy Saturday night, a very soggy and water logged Steele Indian
School Park hosted the second day of the Phoenix Highland Games 2011.
02-26-11 ; Gallery of photos from the 2011 Phoenix Matsuri Festival are now up and

02-06-11 ; My first foray into wedding photography was today, and I thank Mykle and
Jeana for allowing me the honor of taking photos during their very special day. Follow this

01-22-11 ; This year we celebrated my birthday with a visit to the ETMotoPark in
Apache Junction for a Demolition Derby. Photos of the event are now up in the gallery.
01-08-11 : Photos from this years Glendale Glows 2011 are now up and ready for
viewing. There wasn't as many balloons this year, but they did have some great bands
playing.
11-20-10 : The day was full with 2 very interesting, and very different events. First up was
the Phoenix Faerie Festival held out at the Estrella Mountain Park. Later in the evening,
we enjoyed the Helzapoppin Demolition Derby held in Buckeye, Arizona. Both galleries
are now up, and I hope you enjoy the photos.
11-14-10 ; Spent a wonderful day at the Out of Africa Wildlife Park up in Camp Verde,
Arizona. It is a unique experience that allows up close and personal visits with some of the
creatures of the African plains.
11-07-10 :The last night of the Arizona State Fair 2010 had a main event in the
grandstands of Monster Trucks and motor home demolition derby. Gallery of some of the

09-04-10 : This weekend I visited a BMX track up in north Phoenix called Black Mountain

08-22-10 : The worlds oldest continuous rodeo is held in Payson, Arizona each August,
and this was the 126th annual event. Follow this Payson 126th Rodeo link to see the
gallery of photos from this years visit.
07-10-10 : Arcosanti is an experimental town that began construction in 1970 in central
Arizona, 70 mi (110 km) north of Phoenix, at an elevation of 3,732 feet (1,130 meters).
Architect Paolo Soleri, using a concept he calls arcology (a portmanteau of architecture
and ecology), started the town to demonstrate how urban conditions could be improved
while minimizing the destructive impact on the earth. Click the highlighted link above to

05-08-10 : New gallery now uploaded for the annual Prescott Highland Games. This yearly event
showcases some great athletes competing in traditional highland power events, such as the caber
toss, hammer throw, shot put, and much more.
04-24-10 : This weekend I revisited the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium out in west Phoenix. The
aquarium part is the newest addition to this sprawling and private zoo. The new album is on the
very bottom of the Galleries page, or click the above link to launch the photo slideshow directly.
04-18-10 : A friend stopped by for a visit this weekend, and he brought along his pet parrot,
Mitchell. Mitchell was kind enough to sit still for a few photos, and they can be seen in the Mitchell
Gallery.
04-04-10 : Located in downtown Phoenix, sits one of the states oldest houses, The Rosson
House. It is nestled in a section known as Heritage Square, and is surrounded by a number of old
buildings relocated from varying sections of Phoenix. A sampling of shots can be accessed from the

03-13-10 : Tempe Town Lake was the site of this years Arizona Aloha Festival , and it was
attended by what seemed 20,000 people! Some photos of the event are now up in the gallery
section, or follow the clickable link above to access the gallery directly.
02-06-10 : Spent a relaxing day at the Renaissance Festival on Saturday. Gallery of the day is
now up!
02-28-10 ; Spent some time at the MATSURI FESTIVAL on Sunday, and some of the photos have
been uploaded and ready for your viewing.
02-13-10 ; Due to my being down right lazy, I am just now going thru and posting some pic's of
GLENDALE GLOWS 2010. I wasn't able to get a lot of shots this year, because the balloon people
weren't firing up the flames as much as in prior years.
12-19-09 : With the closing of Phoenix Greyhound Dogpark set for the end of December, I
decided to head there a few times and get some photos to remember the old place by.
10-28-09 ; Spent a nice evening at the ARIZONA STATE FAIR and have some of the photos up in
a gallery. I have a few hundred more of the figure - 8 race to edit, so more shots will follow later.
08-26-09 ; Canon 40D that was my main camera died, and was replaced, free of charge, with the
newer CANON 50D .
I am very excited to get some new photos with this camera, as it is a pretty decent step up in all
areas. Stay tuned....
07-04-09 ; Fourth of July 2009 photo gallery now posted. They were take just east of the Peoria
Sports Complex.
05-14-09 : I added more photos to the Derby Dames gallery tonight.
05-10-09 ; Saturday night found this photog ringside at a good old fashioned roller derby. If you
have never had the chance to go to one, find the time. It was more of a blast then I would have ever
expected it to be. I was able to edit a few of the 300 shots I took, and you can find them in the new
DERBY DAMES gallery.
